I do my own mounting and balancing.
Now many of the new tires need very little work to balance.

I called AVON and asked them about the tire position on the rim in relationship to the valve stem and the technician said there was no mark and it did not matter. That was the Avon Road Rider 26's.

I balance my tires with Dyna beads and they work great. They use them on aircraft wheels and long haul trucks too now.

The last time I took a wheel to a motorcycle shop to be balance they used a bubble balancer and when I got home the lead weight had fallen of of the wheel because they had not bothered to clean the surface of the rim.
