When you cleaned the carbs did you have them apart? Sounds like the bike is being starved of fuel. Did you take the tank off the bike and check to make sure it's not plugged up or have crap sitting in it? Fuel filter at all on this thing? Lines are clean? I'm not quite sure what would need to be done on a set of '71 carbs but I am sure if you change the subject line to Tools Help! Tools will come along and post whatever it is that is necessary to fix your bike.
