Its easier, also - you can hide all the electronics and the battery under the 1/8 inch plate that I welded to the top of the extension.
The hard part is getting the rear wheel all lined up on the vertical axis, then after you tack weld it, its a simple process of adding in the support steel and gussets, besides it looks sweet, its unique, and I didn't have to pay anyone for a bolt on rear end. I was able to get the bike fully hard tailed in 2 days, with just a simple 110 Lincoln welder.
The steel cost me less than 40.00 total. Including the plate.
