Oops,sorry for not being clearer.These tubes.Not the backbone,but the two upper cradle tubes that run along side it. These are the only things keeping the valve cover from coming off while the engine is in the frame. If you remove these tubes ( or make them removable ) you can pop it right off.

Now,there is a bit of controversy as to whether you should run without these tubes or not. I'll let you make your own mind up on that. But for what it's worth,my bike did fine without them.Though I did make them removable.Just in case.  And no,the hose clamps are not the permanent fastenersTemporary mock up stuff.

Need the specs on what ya used,sorry being lazy right now,but got a leak that suddently got worse after switching to the fake stuff(syn.)knew that was going to happen but thought I'd have more time N couldn't tell cause lowers cover it all,woke up to a flooded floor-board,well tracks across shop floor 1st. THX now were's that dang 10mm...l.o.l..
