Thanks again. I`m going to go with the F, as you say its more probable to be the frame and vin numbers that are correct. Tank is going to stay but back mudguard is now out. Had a starting issue, which was power throughout bike, but a starter solenoid that just clicked. got one on ebay and while waiting jumped starter motor that kicked in perfectly.
After installing s solenoid with a lot of choke play and some yells of encouragement she kicked into life. Smoky as hell, and crazy loud in the shed, but  an awesome day!
In the process of changing some of the wiring to have the ignition key somewhere near the battery.
Small tacho and speedo and get a small hole in fuel tank sorted.......
That will be it for the moment, unless Santa sends me more parts!
