 For the fronts you can replace the internals. I am about to do it for my DOHC. The internal springs. You have a couple options.

 Check RaceTech Suspensions.  http://www.racetech.com

 There is also Progressive Suspensions.  If you can not find it in the net I can check the addresses around.

  That will bring in better than new suspension performance.

  The SOHC bikes I believe are lighter than DOHC bikes.  Do you ( or anyone around ) know if DOHC ( CB750F) rear shocks fit SOHC ?  I have a set of used but good rear shocks.  If those work, you can have them if you want them, just shipping charges ( From CA 90278.) These rear shocks and a lighter bike should work fine provided it fits.

   I think Hoosier has both kind of bikes. Hopes he is reading and can shed some light over here.
