Look at the similar ones created by the large car companies.
Both ends of the tube would be closed and the carb centered, on the rear, acting as a plenum...that should help ensure flow to each the short runners is equalized. If you notice, the individual runners are angle towards the center. Thats why I chose that pic, so you could see the inards... but you are right
Lucky 1, tapered down to both ends would be ideal.
