81 750K Brake

I finally got my rear brake "unfroze" by emersing the hub completely in penetrant for about a week, didnt need heat.  On to next question:  The fuel inlet tube, which sticks up between carbs 1 and 2:  Should that be loose?  To the point that you can move it forward and backward about 3/8 ''?  This would be the tube that the fuel hose connects to.  Maybe this is normal but couldnt exess air be sucked in at that location?  Bike is not running yet so cant say there is a problem but trying to eliminate potential problems.  Thanks ALL and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
