My 82 CB750F had a 46 tooth rear sprocket. The revs at 100kph (62mph) dropped from 5000 to 4200 after I fitted a 40 tooth rear sprocket. 1st gear is now like 2nd was, 4th is like 5th used to be. When I found I could easily start off uphil with the old gearing, I was happy to change to a 40 tooth.
