Pretty much describes the clutches on both of my bikes. Also sound like what most people say theirs feel like. These old bikes do shift clunky and neutral can be nearly impossible to find sitting still. Somewhat intended though. Keeps you from accidentally hitting neutral when shifting from first to second. IMO, its just nature of the beast.
