I think Tools was asking if mineral oils and petroleum based oils are the same thing. Petro based oils are fine for these clutches,synthetics are not. Some syn's are OK,but you'd have to research which ones.

New engine or not,when Honda was selling these bikes new they were recommending either 30w or 20w-50. The thicker for warm climates,the thinner for colder.
