Thank you i think some dumb dude forgot to tighten the nut when he turned the motor to adjust the valves......(me) The rotor looks okay but we will see the bolt is gone...............somewhere on I-5

Thats a bad way to start off the morning. I entered "charging rotor" up in the search box and got 168 hits, a good start maybe. Looks like your rotor may have shorted out or something. Seems the rotor is usually the problem. I think there is a user manual on here as well and a good video on youtube about a cb 750 rotor removal but you would have to diagnose problems with a multimeter first. Looks like a piece of your stator hanging theregood luck with repairs.
most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handelbars to the saddle.
