And these comments pertain to the SOHC models...  The DOHC's came out in 1979.

After I purchased my 1979 K model, I learned that it was the first year of the DOHC engine -- and I became concerned.  I try to avoid new technologies as they tend to have issues which need to be ironed out by their design engineers, over time, and a few model years.  My wife and I put our K through its paces, touring two-up, for over three years.  It performed exceptionally well.  After I upgraded the suspension (Progressive front and rear), it rode like a modern bike.  Honda really did their CB750's well.  They are still comfortable, dependable, legendary bikes, after more than 30 years.  Thanks, Piute.  Cheers!
