Modern car oil filters

Modern car oil filters are switching to non spin on filters again just like back in 1969.

I guess the manufacturers want to save the steel and make it easier to recycle the oil filters.
My wife's 1996 Toyota was spin on and the 2009 Toyota is paper filter in reuseable canister on the engine block like the CB750.

Our 2006 Toyota is still spin on.
