They claim to put the fuel pumps in the tank to keep them cool. Yeah, how about designing them better with something better than the cheapest taiwanese components in the pump that will last 25k miles? How about make the pump better and more efficient so it runs cooler, WITHOUT having to be in the tank to use the fuel to cool it? Really, what cost would that one change add to the manufacturers bottom line, when you know they could pump up the price of the car $200 to cover it and no one would even notice. I had a Holley inline external pump on my hot rod and it lasted well over 100k miles, OUTSIDE the tank. (it was one of their good ones, the 12-150 150GPH billet base geroter pump, not the entry level junk)
