1979 Honda CB750f Supersport/ headlight size

I want to put a quarter fairing on but am a little confused about the sizing. Is the stock size of the headlight 7" or 8" on a '79 supersport. I seem to get 8" from outside the bezel to outside the bezel. Can't find any decent 8" quarter fairings. I am positive the headlight is original.
