Won't Idle

Hey guys,
Had my 81 cb750f all ready to go after working on it for the last couple months. Cleaned out and rebuilt the carbs. Got em on the bike, synced and running fairly well, but then found gas leaking out from between carbs #1 and #2. So I took the carbs out, separated them and replaced all the o-rings on the fuel rail tubes. Put the carbs back together, wiggled them on the bike and started her up. She idled at about 1 1/2 rpm but clocked out after a few seconds. Tried it again but wouldn't idle. When I give it gas she starts only to die right after I let go of the throttle. I turned all the idle mixture screws 1 3/4 turns out. Right after I did that, she idled for a moment but died shortly after. I've turned the idle screw all the way out but no difference. The spark plugs haven't been replaced, but I don't think that's the issue since it started fine before the leak.
I'm dying to get this running. I know impatience doesn't speed things up. Looking on the forum the info I've found has been: new spark plugs, clogged pilot screws, or rebuilding the carbs. Anything else? Thanks!
