Great.  Thanks for the advice!  I think I'll definitely add a fuel filter--will have to add two probably because the original petcock splits for each carb.  I checked the timing and the points...someone (previous owner?) had taken an oversized screw and jammed it in so the timing would stay consistant and NEVER MOVE AGAIN..  Oh well.  

Where do people stand on painting the motor?  Do buy some high heat spray cans and clean and shoot it?


Also someone (previous owNER!?) took a couple of black spray cans to all the front end and back end chrome.  I was thinking I'd throw some mineral spirits on it and then use a polish or buffing wheel to take all that off?  This a good idea?

Anyway...I'll be out in my garage!
