1981 cb750k soleonoid problem

hi, I have a 1981 cb750k that im not to entirely sure is going on with it. every thing works just fine, but the soleonoid by the battery is constanly clicking. is it supposed to? I don't understand the lights work, it starts, but it is constantly clicking
