You didn't luck out. You did a regular maintenance on the engine. Plugs, wires, carbs, fuel lines, all according to the book. A few more things that might help: check the tires for cracks or aging, adjust the cam chains, adjust the valves, and sync the carbs.
I had the same model as your bike (CB750L). It's a rare machine.  Consider that if you're planning to donk it out, or do the cafe thing.
