I mean...they don't criss-cross...when you apply power to them wouldn't they try to just flex instead of pushing the bike forward??? same thing on the front spokes when you jump on the brakes. Strange.

Those spokes on the rear wheel(which are awesomely short due to a bada$$ rear brake) don't seem like they would work.
