I have been Boiler Maker-Pressure Vessel, and Structural Steel certified. I have welded ladder rungs on the side of a structure, climbing them as I worked up. Now that is trusting my own welds! A properly engineered, and executed weld is stronger then the metal around it! That trike more then likely was poorly designed, and welded by an amateur.
