motogrady You are scaring me on the heat pump. We just had a new one put in. I was told that it should not run me more then 200 - 300 a month. At our old place I had a new gas furnace put in and in the dead of winter my heating was like 150 -200 in a 1700 sq ft house.

I would not want to heat it all the time and there is not insulation at all. I am just looking for a good means of heat for if I want to go out to get some work do or tinker.

I do plan on insulating it and maybe even dividing up a part of the building just for working in.

Thanks for the info. Lets hope this heat pump is as good as the contractor said. So far it is a nice warm heat.
