Air suspension

I'm replacing the air shocks I have on my 900 for some shorter shocks and I was wondering how involved I need to get. According to some research there is a cut-off for if the air is to low and I was wondering if there is a relay or something I need to bypass for this to work.
It's only illegal if you get caught.
