It's likely the factory clear coat on the cover is peeling.Mine is too. I've been way too lazy to do anything about it yet. I'll sand blast mine when the times comes,but I wonder if paint stripper will work? I'm sure it will remove the flaking paint,but I wonder if it might stain the aluminum as well.
