This is a common problem with 750, stator burning or leaking. What we do is to hook up a battery tender every time the bike is not being use. It can help the battery to remain full so that the stator doesn't need to work harder in charging the unit. By the way we use Battery tender Jr. Bought it from 4wheelonline for $31 it can also be hooked with your car or truck.
