That was my first thought,too. But these dog bones are offset, so not as simple as slicing up some AL plate.

I looked at the bottom shock clevis and found this. Ground off the staking and it threaded right off.


Split the clevis from it's base plate. Blasted off the coating. Cut a piece of leftover roll cage tubing. DOM mild steel EWS, for whom it may concern.


Welded my extension to the plate, threaded it back on and add a tack weld.


Slowly welded the clevis back on,being careful not to overheat the shock. Paint and done. :)


Bike sits great now! Rear tire is 6'' from the oil tank. Bottom of the frame tube is 12'' from the ground.  35.5'' seat height feels great. Puts the rake at 26-27*. Veryhappy with this. Sidestand is waaaay too short now.  Notice all the blocks under it.
