Fnally fixed my press today. The little stob that you press with was bending (well, actually it was a little cocked when I bought it...) and when I went to straighten it today it just popped off at the weld. Apparently, Northern Hydraulics used an HF welder to attach it.

Anyway, I've been wanting to thread the tip of the stob for a long time ( to make different dies for the end of it) so I figured now was the time.
Trued up and threaded both ends with 1/2'' coarse. Female threads on top and a bolt rather than welding it back on. I can make completely different tools to press with since it's not permanently mounted. Male threads on the bottom allows me to make different dies that can changed out depending on the job.

Simple really, but I'm pretty happy about this. If nothing else, it frees up a hand by having the ability to screw a top press plate directly to the stob.
