With autos, I consider it pre-smog, which is basically 1973 and earlier. With bikes, the water is a little more muddy. Mid 80's seems about right.

I know AHRMA runs twin cam CB's in the Vintage Heavyweight class, so that's '79-'83. The CB900F's are pretty competitive with the right setup.
