I realise this thread is a few weeks old and you may have sorted it by now, but another cause of overflowing from the float bowls is that the thin metal overflow tube in the bottom of the float bowl is cracked/missing/loose in its seat. I don't see mention of the actual float bowls being replaced, so it's worth a look.
