jetting specs?

On my 1981 CB750k, I eagerly desire removing my stock airbox and replace it with individual filters, and thus will have to rejet my carbs.  Everything I have read thus far says it is a trial and error process.  With a set of jets costing about $50, trial and error is not my cup of tea, is there anyone who has can help?
