Carb question -'78f to'77 F

I've got a '77F with too many carb issues to rebuild.  I got a set of carbs from a '78F that appear to in good shape.  The '78 carbs appear to be identicle except for a second smaller rubber line going to the number 2 carb just in front of the main fuel line.  I would like to know where that line goes on the bike.  Is it a vacuum line, fuel line, or what?  Thanks
