The wattage of your bulbs is the most likely cause. Not enough draw to trip the relay. Im assuming the originals worked fine. So either find higher wattage bulbs or a different relay. The blinkers are 3 wire settups so there is a running light wire and a blinker wire as well as a ground you might check to see if everything is hooked up right. One time I bought aftermarket blinkers that were 3 wire but the bulbs had two different filaments one for blinking and one for running and I burned the bulbs out real fast because they were mixed up. I dont know if any of this will help but it was worth a shot.
