Do I need new coils?

I'm not getting any spark on the plugs.  I put a screwdriver in the ignition wire and a little bit to jumped from the driver to the frame. (it doesn't look like much)  Its the same on every cylinder.  would this be because of a bad stator/generator?  It isn't the battery.  I've tested it 4 times, I used a different battery, I jumped it off of my car and the battery charger.  I checked all of the connections also.  Do I need new coils?
