It sounds like you have a sticking clutch. It happened to me on several occasions. Here is what I did. Put the bike on the main stand so that the rear wheel is off the ground. Engage first gear and then start the bike. Once you have got the rear wheel  turning  fairly fast, then with your right foot stomp very hard on the brake pedal.By doing this you are releasing the clutch plates that have become stuck due to standing for long periods Worked a treat for me when I had a sticking clutch, and since then its never happened again.
