When it  comes to the carbs on these bikes, nothing suprises me anymore with them. When they are good the are brilliant, when they are bad they are diabolical. Check underneath the carbs between number 3 & 4 carb and you will see a knurled black "screw" That is the idle adjustment screw. Screw it in several turns until it (hopefully ) will idle. If its too fast just unscrew it until you can get it to idle at around 1000 +/- 50 rpm at normal operating temps.  Worst case scenario if you simply cant get it to idle at all, is to remove them and clean out all the jets.
