Can you send me a picture of the A as we in Australia only ever got the CB750K and the F so cant say I have ever seen the A model. By all means change your rear sprocket - you didnt mention what size it was. Its stamped on the face of the sprocket in two places, so you cant miss it. Except you have to get down on you hands and knees with the bike on the main stand and rotate the rear whee until you see the numbers stamped on the sprocket. Hope that is of some help.
