strange noise

i need help. my 70 k0 finally runs but makes a strange noise, a screech actually when at idle, sounds like it comes from the starter area. i can make it happen when i use the kick starter with the engine off. when the engine warms up the noise goes away. any ideas? help would be appreciated.
