REAR SPROCKET TEETH NUMBER

My Honda (82 CB750K ) came out with either a 43 a 44 teeth rear sprocket. I went down four sizes to a 40 tooth rear sprocket in order to reduce RPM at high speed cruising. However the workshop manual says 38 teeth on rear and 15 on front and I know that is definately wrong as I`ve never had a 38 tooth rear sprocket ever. It so long ago since I changed the rear sprocket that I cant remember whether its a 43 or 44 tooth rear sprocket. Therefore my next problem is what O ring chain do I use - a 630/88 or 630/90 ???? Can you guys in the states or UK check the number on the rear sprockets of your 79 - 82 CB750K and let me know what the number is that is stamped on the sprocket. Many thanks
