hi guys i just bought an 1980 cb750 and im starting to rebuild piece by piece using a manual but its seems there arises a lot of question it cant answer. i was impressed by the amount of resources on this forums so i joined up. i hope to be of some use in the future.

alright so my problems, lol got a lot but this is what im working on atm

im start with the brake assembly, the master cylinder something happened and the brake fluid exploded/leaked out of the plastic reservoir and the paint of the metal holding it is crumbling off. so i took the top off and the little remaining brake fluid kinda solidified it needs a good cleaning, according the manual to take it apart i need to take off the brake lever handle so i took off the bottom nut/washer pretty easily but the silver bolt itself is being really stubborn im trying to using a flathead to unscrew but it keeps slipping and im afraid of ruing the screw. what i was wondering is if anyone who has taken this apart know if i can just hammer it out. on the manual it looks like the thread portion is short. i might just be threaded to the nut?

2nd is i need to purchase a few missing parts starting with the rear axle bolt. mine is a 1980 do all 1979-1983's bolts fit does i matter if its supersport or custom. also i see alot of axles on ebay im assuming i should go for an auction including chain adjusters and spacers?
