Here's another question and then i promise to drop the whole fork thing until I have resolved my problem.

The forks i have now are longer, by 6". I have the 77f forks. (this much we know)

Can I take apart both sets of forks, use the short tubes from the 77f into the lower forks of my current set up?

This would alleviate a lot of hassle, returning to standard forks, until i can do the duel disc properly. AND i don't have to spend any more cash till i sell my 82 Yamaha XJ550 (which will fund my CB750 aspirations)
