Newbie to honda needs help

Hello i just bought my first honda,cb750,1974. Bike is super clean but the previous owner put longer front fork tubes on it. I really hate this psuedo chopper look but he saved the original tubes which i want to reinstall. Fast forward, the honda dealer close to my town doesnt work on anything before 1990??? So im considering doing the job myself.My shade tree mechanix skills have included one auto engine rebuild and several engine rnr's and brake's etc. But i do not work on the computer fuel inject new stuff.Question? Are these forks under pressure and will a floor jack and hand tools be all that is required. Any thoughts and tricks will be most appreciated.
