Continuing of Verns line, that tube is usually vented into the airbox as part of epa regulations. It is ok to vent it but you may want to put a filter on the end to prevent dirt from coming back in.

Also, you might have a smaller line from your carbs, I have different carbs but I have a small vent line there and it just lays on the top of the air box and does not plug in to anything.
