I think it is a great idea. I'm searching for my second one now.Great minds think alike, right?

There was no photo that I could see.
$350.00 for a bike you cannot see that has been sitting for 15 years?
I do not think so.
And where was it sitting? Out in a muddy field? In CANADA.
Maybe you need something with more of a challenge for your dream bike? LOL...lol..lol

Well I might buy it and then part it out and make some cash off of it for fixing the cb.
If it were stored well, it would be decent but need pretty much all rubber bits replaced.
Sitting like that could have frozen the motor too so make sure it turns over properly. If it does not, it will not be worth getting and then having to restore if the cb is your primary focus.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

For $350.00 I would be on my way to check it out. I know about looking, for bikes. I'm always looking.

I don't know why, you guys are having trouble finding bikes. I passed on 4 good deals today because I did not have time. All 4 sold within a few hours.

I'm not having trouble finding them. In Florida, these idiots think a completely disassembled pile of rust with half the parts missing, and the other half JC Whitney replacements, is somehow worth $2000-3500! Some of them WILL NOT budge on price….idiots. They're not that valuable…yet.
I seriously don't think I should pay over $500 for a bare frame with title. (not even that much really)

Same thing in my area. Junk bikes go for a grand, easy. I think part of it is that bikes are not that common here like they are in other areas of the country. I hear of people picking up 3 bikes for 1000 and I sit here thinking that I can't get a basketcase for 1000.

My ideal would be another cb750, but I'm open to other bikes.
The cx500 sold, and now I'm looking at a 1982 yamaha maxim 550. They seem like bulletproof bikes and it looks like I can get a runner for $500. They say it just needs new tires for a cert - ya right.
Either way, that would probably be a good daily commuter to ride while I cafe my cb.
I've been doing some research on it and apparently the maxim 550 came with 1.10 inch HSR40 mikuni carbs.
Anyone know if those will work on the cb750? I've heard that the mikuni's are better in general and you can make them work easily with pods unlike the stock DOHC carbs. According to bike bandit parts lookup both the cb750 and 550 maxim use the Mikuni HSR40 carbs. Could be a really nice upgrade for my CB750 and a bank of 4 carbs alone will cost more than $500.

I think it's a GREAT idea, you can't have too many bikes! I'm always looking for another 2 wheeler, usually browsing Craigslist, ebay, cycle trader, and local paper almost daily.
Good luck on your search.
