universal SS brakelines - FYI

pickandpray
I just finished installing a universal brake line to replace my original 30 yr old brake line.  Here's some findings in case anyone is interested.

-original line is fabric reinforced and can be pinched with your fingers
-need minimum 38" universal SS lines with screw-on fittings
-need 2 30degree banjo bolt fittings
-some extra hose would be nice to protect the new lines as it passes under the headlight bucket.  I used generic home depot hose as an external cover to protect against abrasion

my bike is a 1980 cb750c

Thanks for posting this. I will be replacing my hoses this winter with SS.

BTW, no appreciable difference in braking performance was felt since I had already bled the brakes with the old fabric reinforced lines.

next up.  brake upgrade.
