weak spark wont start

hi everyone i have a 1973 cb when i got the bike i was told there was no spark so i started to look into i have power every were i should and ive cleaned up the contacts on my points but when i pulled a plug out and grounded i couldnt see any spark i took the plug boot off the wire and when i touched the wire and turned it over i could feel a shock and it felt strong but i cant get an arc out of it when i ground it to something i am thinking about ordering condensers i was told if those go bad u can loose strength in your spark any ideas on how to get spark would be much appreciated thanks everyone also how can i replace the wires if the wires are bad i dont really have the money for new coils right now thanks

Most of the time you just need to replace the spark plug boots. I get NGK boots from Z1 Enterprises. I doubt your problem is condensers (I also get Sudco tuneup kits from Z1). The ignitions on these bikes are not very powerful. If your plugs are fouled you will not get any spark. I would suggest changing to Iridium plugs. They make these points systems run like an electronic ignition. Also have you done a continuity check on your coils? You can down load the factory service manual from the home page here, and it has instructions on how to do this.
