white scum

hi just checked the oil dipstick on the bike there seems to be white scum on the dipstick is this a problem, 1995 cb 750, cheers,

It's just condensation in the oil. Run the bike with some "Sea Foam" in the oil for a few minutes, and then change it. It should clean it out.

thanks a lot tools , but over here in ireland you cant get seafoam, ive read so much about it, is there any other remady, and does this happen a lot. cheers mate

Water builds up in the oil from generally 2 things: Running in very damp conditions( I think Ireland checks that box), not running long enough to burn off the condensation that builds up in the engine.

generally as long as you run the engine for longer periods of time on occasional basis, the condensation usually burns off.

Techron might be available in your area, otherwise redex is supposed to be ok but hard to say how well it will work.

Star-tron might be available to you as well.

thanks, ive been only using the bike for short hops the last few months maybe that has lead to it, ill try to get hold of some of that other stuff you have mentioned, your dead right about the [ moist] weather over here, while your here is there a repair manual for that model online, i tried one of the links on this site it told me i was in the wrong place. i think the model is 1995 cb750 f2s, good luck

Before we had dedicated server space and that was the top links. My guess is the contact I had at that company is gone and the server was shut down/killed/whatever and so the links don't work. There is a second set of links and you should be able to get the download from there.
