The the drags will be loud. Be prepared for that.
The K&Ns, are they pods?
If so, then be ready to know your carbs more than you ever wanted.
You WILL be jetting. Even worse, there is no 1 jet size that works on every bike.
You will need to get some idle and main jets and then it is trial and error pretty much.
Best I could say is to get 2 steps up for both idle and mains and set the air screw about 1.5 turns out. Needle clip in the middle position.
Start there. Be ready to clean your plugs a lot and you may need a couple sets.
You are aiming for a light chocolate brown. So start the bike and let it idle for a while and kill it with the switch. Pull plugs and see what color they are. If a dark brown, turn out the mix screw another half turn. CLean the plugs and spray with carb cleaner, allow to dry and try again.
After that, then it is time to take the bike out and run it will keeping it about 4500 rpm. Pull clutch and kill at same time after riding like that a few minutes. Make sure you get to 5th gear in this test. If the color is dark again, then drop the clip 1 position. Clean and repeat.
From there, Do a high rpm, high speed test> Keep them Revs up to 8000 and go through the gears, keep on it hard! Keep the revs up and then pull clutch/kill engine. Make sure you do not let out the clutch till stopped. Check color again. If dark, drop 1 size, if very light, go up.
Best I can really give you. It is a lot of trial and error.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
