Throttle stuck wide open and I don't know why.

Jreed615
I took my bike out for pretty much the first ride today. The bike ran really good, but about 12 mile into the ride the throttle stuck open. I can see the cable opening when I twist the throttle and it looks like the linkage is opening and closing, however it is still wide open we you start it. Could something be stuck internally? I am confused. I know the bike is missing the return cable also. Thanks for any help.

The return cable for this situation. Most likely your linkage got gummed somehow, or the cable, or the return spring may have broke.
Only thing you can do is disconnect the cable and test it, should move with very little force.
Check to make sure the carbs snap shut. If they do not, check the spring then the slides.

Once it is all working good, you can decide if you want the return cable but I would put it on myself.

When I pull the breather off and look inside the carbs. The slide do not move when I twist the throttle, however he linksge on the out side of the carbs does move back and forth. You can look and see the butterflies behind the slide moving. The slide do not move at all.

Hmm, sounds like a pin sheared off where the linkage turns the rod that actuates the slides.
