1972 CB750 Dunstall

chuckyzfr1
Hey Guys,

My friend and neighbor has a 1972 Honda CB750 Dunstall, which I understand is a fairly rare bike.  It is in pretty good shape except for a few minor glitches.  He'd been riding it up until a couple of years ago when he parked it inside his shop with a tarp over it.  He has too many other things going on and has asked my help selling it.  I'll take some pics of it which I can post or email to people.

I'm going to help him get it fired up - one of the glitches it has, which is pretty common for these bikes, is the rectifier/regulator is dead, and he's already replaced it at least once.  I've heard that these bikes tend to have a ground issue that kills their rectifiers, so I'm going to see if I can help him out with it.  Also, the right-side footpeg (a custom Dunstall unit) got broken off while he was riding it - he clipped the very tip of it on the tire of a car as he was riding it and it ripped it off.  He's fabricated a footpeg for it, and he thinks he has the broken unit somewhere but he doesn't know where.

Anyway, I just thought I would put it out here to see if anyone is interested.  The bike is located in Richmond, VA.  You can reach me directly at caulino@yahoo.com

Best thing to do is put it on craigslist or on ebay. A dunstall will usually get fair money. If it is in good shape, possibly 4000. The rectifier is a myth. Mine is 31 years old and works just fine. If the wiring done poorly or the replacement unit is poor, then of course it can die and that usually how they die. The factory unit though is pretty reliable.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
